Here's a super simple tip that many brides fail to achieve: Walking SLOW down the aisle!
It's something so so simple, yet at many weddings, in the heat of the big moment, bridesmaids rush up the aisle, and sometimes even the bride. It's not so bad for the flowergirls!
Why is this a massive error? Well for one, I won't be able to get the shots in focus as the bridesmaids come towards me - since they move too fast! And, the guests won't be able to appreciate the beautiful moment either. Especially bad if the bride does it.
At every wedding I shoot - I make sure to address this issue just before the ceremony. I tell the bridesmaids to walk up the aisle in SINGLE FILE - SLOWLY. The first bridesmaid goes slowly, and when she reaches the top, then and only then should the second bridesmaid start to walk. When the second bridesmaid reaches the top, then the third, and so on...
At this time, I'm positioned at the top of the aisle -anticipating the moment. It enabes me to get great shots of the grooms reaction also.
As the bridesmaids commence coming up the aisle one by one, I can easily get the shots in focus. And since each bridesmaid waits her turn (until the one before reaches the top), this means they don't block each other out.
Unfortunately, I've seen this at many weddings when the second bridesmaid is right behind the first, making it impossible for me to get a clean shot of the first, and impossible to capture even a glimpse of the second!
Amazing how such a simple tip goes so far! Do you want to work with a highly experienced photographer, who knows excellent tips like this - that will make your day so so much better? If so, get in touch, I'd be delighted to help you!
